Strategic Planning Advice Limited was established by Ian McDonald, managing director, in 1993. Prior to the formation of Strategic Planning Advice Limited, Ian was a founding member of Roger Tym & Partners, Urban and Land Economists and a Partner of that firm for 19 years.

Strategic Planning Advice Limited has offices in London from which it provides research, specialist advice and technical assistance services. SPA specialises in economic development and evaluation and in the strategic planning of large developments and urban regeneration programmes for local authorities, central government and other public and private sector clients.

As a specialist practice, our main areas of work are in the fields of economics, financial analysis, regeneration and economic development, market and customer research and planning. The firm’s capabilities are often deployed on novel or controversial development projects, where innovative techniques and solutions are required.
