Brentford Lock West

2009-ongoing
ISIS Waterside Regeneration

SPA was asked to assess the possible employment uses for Brentford Lock West an 11-acre site adjacent to where the Grand Union Canal meets the River Thames in West London.

The site is currently derelict, having formerly been constructed in the 1930s as a rail to canal transshipment facility by British Waterways. SPA conducted a survey of existing local businesses and commercial and industrial premises, advising the client on which economic sectors are best positioned for future growth in the Brentford, and wider West London, economy. Our analysis demonstrated the importance of the site in improving connectivity between existing business and residential communities on the Great West Road and Brentford High Street.
